Abstract
- The article discusses a study which explored the efficacy of tendon needling with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) in patients with chronic tennis elbow or lateral epicondylar tendinopathy compared with an active control group. The research involved 230 patients with chronic tennis elbow who were treated at 12 centers over 5 years. The study found no significant differences at 12 weeks, but clinically meaningful improvements were found in subjects treated with PRP at 24 weeks.
