Abstract

Model reference adaptive system (MRAS) is usually employed for rotor position/speed estimation in sensorless IPMSM drives. The adjustment of control parameters in MRAS is one of key issues to enhance the intelligent level of the system, especially for the IPMSM drive system with cyclic fluctuating load. In this paper, an auto-tuning method based on Fuzzy logic is proposed to adjust the control parameters in MRAS automatically, which avoids inconvenient manual tuning. To implement this auto-tuning method, a one-dimensional Fuzzy-MRAS speed estimation mechanism is developed and the Fuzzy rules are designed. In addition, to lower the speed ripple, the motor output torque pattern matching the cyclic fluctuating load is also developed. Experimental results demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed auto-tuning method. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
