Abstract
- The <superscript>15</superscript>O(2p, γ) <superscript>17</superscript>Ne cross section has been studied by the inverse reaction, the Coulomb dissociation of <superscript>17</superscript>Ne. The experiment has been performed at the GSI. The <superscript>17</superscript>Ne excitation energy prior to decay has been reconstructed by using the invariant-mass method. The preliminary differential and integral Coulomb dissociation cross sections (σ<subscript>Coul</subscript>) have been extracted, which provide a photoabsorption (σ<subscript>photo</subscript>) and a radiative capture cross section (σ<subscript>cap</subscript>). Additionally, important information about the <superscript>17</superscript>Ne nuclear structure will be obtained. The analysis is in progress. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
