Abstract

The article discusses the racial identity of Swedish immigrants in U.S. society and their position in the ethno-racial hierarchy of immigration. Emphasis is given to inter-ethnic relations with Irish, Catholic, and African Americans and topics such as intermarriage, assimilation, and white privilege. Other topics include links between Anglo-Saxonism and Norse tradition and the work of historian Johan Alfred Enander.
