Abstract
- The article focuses on events in the European Union (EU) in 2013. Topics discussed include the six-month presidency of Ireland of the Council of the European Union that began on January 1, the fiftieth anniversary of the Elysée Treaty in Berlin, Germany and the speech of British Prime Minister David Cameron on Great Britain's relationship with the EU. It also mentions the elections in Italy in March, the full bailout of Cyprus in March and the decision on Latvia to join the euro in 2014.
