Abstract

The article reports on reproductive assembly line in Bangalore, India. It states that India is rising in terms of transnational surrogacy with profits projected to reach $6 billion. Also mentioned are aspects that leads some Indian women to engage in surrogacy, their views about surrogacy, and the case of surrogate mother and garment worker Indirani who had delivered twins for a Tamil couple in the U.S.
