Abstract
- An essay is presented on the development of fuel-efficiency rules for light-duty vehicles in the United States. It states that a report by the BlueGreen Alliance, a nationwide partnership of environmental groups and labor unions, found that 570,000 jobs will be created by the shift to advanced, high-efficiency vehicles. It mentions that the report suggests the new standards will cause a net increase of 75 billion dollars by 2030 to the gross domestic product of the United States.
