The author presents examples of notable people who suffered from irrational thoughts, such as mathematician Kurt Godel's fear of random food poisoning, discusses his own struggle with OCD, which resulted from the fear of contracting HIV, OCD research by Mairwen Jones at the University of Sydney Anxiety Disorders Clinic, and OCD related to climate change fears.
