Abstract

The article discusses the March 27, 1814 Battle of Horseshoe Bend in Alabama, which was part of the First Creek War. An overview of the tactics that U.S. Major General (and future U.S. president) Andrew Jackson used against the Red Stick Creek Indians, including his leading of a frontal assault launched on the Red Sticks, is provided.
