Abstract

The article describes a case study concerning an elderly Japanese woman with primary cutaneous anaplastic large cell lymphoma (PCALCL) who was successfully treated with intralesional methotrexate (MTX) solution. Topics discussed include the patient's history of intractable leg ulcer with acquired ichthyosis, anaplastic cell morphology of tumor cells in the lesions, and other therapeutic modalities for PCALCL. Also mentioned are MTX's inhibition of DNA synthesis and anti-inflammatory effects.
