Abstract

The author explores the contributions of the African Programme for Onchocerciasis Control (APOC) for treating patients with onchocerciasis in 16 sub-Saharan countries including Cameroon, Congo and Ethiopia. Details on the updates health impact of the disease estimation based on disability weights from year 1995 to 2015 is discussed. The author also emphasizes the risk of skin disease in patients with onchocerciasis.
