Abstract
- The article discusses hydraulic fracturing sand (frac sand). Topics include how frac sand is used to keep fractures open in rocks that contain oil so that it can be accessed more easily, the American Petroleum Institute's (API) and the International Standards Organization's (ISO) specifications for frac sand grain size, composition, and crush resistance, and the health issues of silica dust from frac sand.
