- Discusses the results of two clinical trials of the platelet inhibitor Aggrastat (tirofiban) developed by Merck & Co. for angina patients. Potential to cut the risk of death and cardiac complications; Reduction of the need for heparin; Cost of widespread tirofiban use; Merck's plan to file a New Drug Application for tirofiban in late 1997.
