The article provides information on the book "The Economic Effects of Aging in the United States and Japan," Michael D. Hurd and Naohiro Yashiro. The book has fourteen papers which focuses on the thesis that population aging in the United States and Japan will have both micro and macro effects and that in some cases these effects will be substantial. Papers examine the demography and macroeconomic impact of aging; aging and asset markets; aging, household savings, and retirement; and public pension reform.
