Abstract

The article focuses on a study on significance of rapid diagnostic test (RDT) to improve treatment of malaria in primary care clinics in Afghanistan that was published in the June 2014 issue of the periodical. Topics discussed include comparison of rapid diagnostic test with microscopy and clinical diagnosis, funding by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for the study and accuracy of RDT to detect Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax.
