Abstract

The article focuses on an in vivo and in vitro study conducted to assess the biocompatibility of silk gel for cervical injection during pregnancy. It mentions injection of silk gel into cervix of rats pregnant with 13 days and the use of culture of human cervical fibroblasts on silk gel and tissue culture plastic to evaluate cell viability, proliferation, metabolic activity and gene expression, and the conclusion that silk gel can be used as an alternative to cervical cerclage.
