Abstract

The article discusses ethnomedicine and species of plants that are used in Jamaican Maroon herbal medicinal practices. Species noted include Entada gigas (Fabaceae), Mormordica balsamina (Cucurbitaceae), and Chamaesyce hyssopifolia (Euphorbiaceae) for the treatment of ailments such as urinary tract infection, asthma, and diarrhoea.
