Abstract
- The author expresses his views on the courage, compassion and connectedness that arose during the December 2014 siege in Sydney, New South Wales. Topics include the response by police, counterterrorism agencies and other experts to the incident, the leadership shown by civic agencies through the hours of uncertainty, and the concerns for outcomes and outpouring of grief over the tragedy. Also mentioned is the role played by general practitioners in helping those who may be vulnerable.
