Abstract
- The article focuses on various aspects related to use of surnames as trademarks in commerce. It states that the surname policy within Great Britain has been radically shifted by harmonization of European trademark law. It refers to several European surname cases which were presented before the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) such as Nichols Pic v Registrar of Trade Marks and Alessi v Exclusive di Giacinto Alessi.
