Abstract
- The article studies the circulation of French currency in the Nord department of France, from the Restoration to the death of French King Louis XVIII, and analyzes the activities of the mint Hôtel des Monnaies in Lille, France. Topics include the 20 F gold coins minted by the Royal Mint of London, England, which were copies of the French gold coins and were approved by the French King, the presence of English, Dutch, Prussian, and Russian currency, and the mint Monnaie de Lille's supply of metal.
