Abstract

The article discusses a study which examined whether genome-wide dysregulation of circulatinng microRNAs (miRNA) can differentiate hepatocellular carcinoma cases from controls. Particular focus is given to the use of real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in validating candidate miRNAs. Also discussed are clinicopathologic characteristics of subjects, overexpression of miRNAs in hepatocellular carcinoma cases, and the correlation between Taq-Man Low Density Arrays and PCR assays.
