Abstract

The article studies the comparison of receptor-defined breast cancer proportions in women across Southern Africa. The study evaluated estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR), and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) statuses in two Southern African countries with routine diagnostic immunohistochemistry. The study showed that ER breast cancer dominates in all Southern African races with black women having an excess of aggressive subtypes.
