Abstract: The article discusses research which explored the diagnostics, analysis and solution of hydroacoustic problems in marine and naval engineering. Topics discussed include the direct estimate of the flow phenomena at the source of sound generation and emission and the use of an acoustic analogies and a time resolved velocimetry technique.
