Special edition: historical research in music education.

An introduction to a special edition of the journal is presented which discusses various papers published within the issue, including one on the history of Iranian music pedagogy, one on the progress of music education in New South Wales, and another on the inclusion of patriotic songs in Australian school music textbooks during the second half of the 20th century.
