Abstract
- In this article, the author examines depictions of the world in news and popular culture. Particular focus is given to his criticisms of media in the U.S., which he believes perpetuates stereotypes of cultures and people outside of the U.S. Additional topics discussed include the book "Moral Agents: Eight Twentieth-Century American Writers," by Edward Mendelson, insights on various authors featured in Mendelson's book, including Saul Bellow, the Cold War and New York City-based mid-20th century intellectuals.
