Abstract

The article reflects on the decision of the Privy Council of New Zealand in the case Pora v The Queen in which defendant was charged with burglary, rape and murder. It mentions that the evidence from three expert witnesses revealed that defendant suffered from a neuro-developmental disorder and his confession was not reliable. It also mentions that the New Zealand Evidence Act permits expert evidence to be given for the admissibility of the third expert's evidence.
