Abstract

The article discusses trophic mass balance models of productive fishing grounds of four largest upwelling areas including northern Humboldt Current, northern Benguela Current and southern Canary Current to catch marine fish. It discusses that the model allowed to assess ecological sustainability of a fishery. It also mentions the model addresses the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries published by the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations.
