Abstract

The article focuses on a study on relation of vertical distribution of soil organic carbon with climate and vegetation. It states the interaction of soil organic carbon (SOC) with atmospheric composition, climate and changes in land cover, and mentions use of SOC to analyze soil texture at different soil depths in the study. It notes estimation of global SOC storage and cites that plant functional types help regulate SOC distributions with depth of the soil .
