Abstract

Our study is the first to investigate Afghan student views about entrepreneurship. Students at a new university provided data on entrepreneurial disposition, intentions, and beliefs about barriers and motives to entrepreneurship. We find significant gender differences regarding disposition and intentions, but scarcely any gender differences regarding entrepreneurship motives and barriers. In other words, although the two sexes appear to hold distinct views about themselves and their plans, they hold relatively similar views on the reasons for entrepreneurship and the impediments to it.
