Abstract

The article focuses on the chances of reform in madrasas or Muslim schools, in which its history and its impact on the 21st century society are explored. Topics discussed include the history of the religious seminaries from its emergence in the 1800s to its rebirth in Pakistan since its separation from India in 1947, the link between madrasas and terrorist organizations, and practices in madrasas related to the Islamic faith according to one teacher.
