Abstract
- The integration of microcontrollers as very limited devices, in conventional service-oriented architectures (SOA) based systems is presented in this paper. These systems serve mainly for data acquisition and soft real-time control. Microcontroller’s role as embedded device is to receive commands from powerful device such as personal computer and apply respective signals to sensors and actuators. The SOA based system organization helps in further system expansion and maintenance in standardized way. Since the implementation of SOA requires large code and data memory making them unsuitable for embedded systems, we propose a solution by introducing the concept of bind server. Bind server takes the responsibility of complex tasks leaving the microcontroller to deal with simple ones. We report very small sizes of code and messages exchanged for server implemented in microcontroller. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
