Abstract
- The author discusses the International Society of Weekly Newspaper Editors (ISWNE) Golden Quill Awards conference being held in Melbourne, Australia, its nominations and judging process. She claims that the selection of the best quill entrant at ISWNE is not easy. Also discussed is the importance of community journalism, how journalists should avoid buying news and instead gathering it themselves and the importance of bias for community newspapers.
