Abstract

The article talks about New York state law, The Open Meetings Law and The Freedom of Information Law, which was violated by Westerlo Town Board. Topics discussed include failure to conduct a public presentation regarding a loan of 2.8 million U.S. dollars for the renovation of Town hall and construction of new highway garage, refusal of board members to share documents of cost estimation, and suggestion by the author to the citizens to sign a petition for permissive referendum.
