Abstract
- The article offers insight to the repatriation of Korean forced laborers from Japan and reconciliation in East Asia. Topics include role of and Japanese volunteer organizations in escorting the remains of 115 young Korean men from Hokkaido, Japan to Seoul, Korea; analysis of the culture during Japanese colonial period; and a film "So Long Asleep, Waking the Ghosts of a War" addressing pilgrimage across the Japanese islands as we carried those remains for proper funeral ceremony and reburial.
