Synthesis and Structures of Edge-functionalized Dihydrodisilaanthracene and Tetrahydrotetrasilapentacene Compounds.

Dimerization of [2,5-bis(fluorodimethylsilyl)phenyl]lithium (8) afforded 9,10-dihydro-9,10-disilaanthracene 9 bearing fluorodimethylsilyl groups at the 2- and 6-positions. Tetrahydrotetrasilapentacene compound 11 was also obtained. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
