Abstract

The aim of the present study is to investigate the current utilization pattern of post-consumer textile waste (PCTW). The study was conducted in urban area of Udaipur, district of Rajasthan. A sample of two hundred women was selected through purposive random sampling. Their preferable post-consumer textile waste, utilizing purpose, sorting criteria and constraints in utilization of PCTW were considered. The results of the study shows that only marginal respondents were aware that garment items of family members and home furnishing textiles are always useful for some another purpose. It was also observed that one third of the respondents often face barriers and sixty five percent respondents always utilize waste textiles for dusting and cleaning purposes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
