Abstract

Although the exact function of the subacromial bursa as it relates to rotator cuff repair is still debatable, most surgeons would agree that the more invasive the procedure, the more likely there will be scarring and/or adhesions, which can lead to decreased motion. So, when performing subacromial bursectomy during rotator cuff repair, "Observe due measure, moderation is best in all things [subacromial]." [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
