Abstract

The article reports on the discovery of archaeologists on dozens of cat mummies in an ancient tomb near Cairo, Egypt. It outlines the importance of the discovery since it indicates how Egyptians value their cats and other pets. It also notes that cats were among the most commonly mummified animals believing that owners could stay with their pets in the afterlife.
