Abstract

The article offers information on the laws and regulations that are made for reducing residential exposure to radon gas which is one of the leading cause of lung cancer among smokers and non-smokers in U.S. Topics discussed include the 1988 Indoor Radon Abatement Act for reducing the level of radon gas; the Indoor Air Quality and Radon Gas Act of 1986 for establishing a research program for radon and other issues of indoor air quality; and state laws and local ordinances for radon exposures.
