Vision screening and the school nurse in Washington State.

Vision screening (VS) regulations for public schools in Washington were recently revised to modernize procedures, to add the requirement of near VS (unfunded mandate), and to allow the alternative of instrument-based screening. We sought to assess the attitudes and practices of school nurses in Washington with regards to VS, before and after implementation of the new regulations.
