In 1945, as World War II was coming to its completion, one of the greatest war prizes was German technology and the knowledge workers who created it. The Soviet Union and the Allies both targeted and highly prized German Rocket Technology. Both sides captured rocket scientists. The United States used theirs to build a world class rocket industry. This was a real-world experiment on cluster hiring. This paper explores the possible advantages of this hiring technique and suggests that companies should explore the potential of hiring teams of business students rather than individuals when recruiting new graduates.
