Abstract

Patients with gastric cancer undergoing gastrectomy were randomly assigned to UDCA 300 mg, UDCA 600 mg, or placebo groups at a ratio of 1:1:1. The proportion of patients developing gallstones within 12 months after gastrectomy was 8/151 (5.3%), 7/164 (4.3%) and 25/150 (16.7%) in the UDCA 300 mg, UDCA 600 mg, and placebo groups, respectively. B Conclusions: b UDCA administration prevents gallstone formation after gastrectomy in patients with gastric cancer. [Extracted from the article]
