Abstract
- The article presents the narratives of registered nurse Jule O. Graves on the state of public health nursing in Florida in the 1930s. Also cited are Graves' experiences as field worker for the Florida State Board of Health and full-time instructor of midwives, her experiences during natural disasters in the state like the great flood of the Caloochahatche River and the 1933 hurricane, as well as her personal background.
