Abstract

The article discusses forensic genetic genealogy (FGG), an investigative technique that is useful to law enforcement agencies in solving cold cases by identifying suspects who have committed a violent crime left unsolved. It cites, as an example, the Golden State Killer case which identified Joseph DeAngelo as the prime suspect using FGG. The author cites preliminary considerations when conducting a violent crime investigation using FGG.
