Abstract: The article discusses the results of a study on the effectiveness of spirometry and forced oscillation technique in reducing thoracic compliance. Topics mentioned include the measurement of impedance to air flow due to airway resistance and respiratory system compliance, some limitations associated with spirometry, and the influence of chest restriction on total lung capacity.
