Curriculum Planning: A Survey of Texas Communication Studies Undergraduate Curriculum and Core Courses in Four-Year Colleges and Universities.

Curriculum planning is an ongoing process that requires an exploration of current offerings to determine if programs meet the needs of stakeholders and remain current with the discipline. This study provides a current snapshot of course offerings and core classes at all 4-year colleges and universities in Texas that offer majors in Communication Studies. It compares and contrasts the Texas curriculum to national curricular studies in communication and identifies core classes required in programs. Results suggest that while Texas schools generally align with national studies, core classes have little consistency across the state. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
