Abstract

OCLC, with grant assistance from the Mellon Foundation, built a shared entity management infrastructure to support linked data in a production capacity. This infrastructure provides persistent, centralized, and jointly curated entity data, to support libraries and cultural heritage institutions as they seek to implement new descriptive workflows. This paper will outline the entity infrastructure project, its outcomes, and the future outlook. It will include a detailed look at data modeling, as well as OCLC's close work with libraries throughout the grant. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
