Abstract
- The article focuses on the $35 million seismic retrofitting project for York Hall, one of the oldest buildings on the University of California San Diego's Torrey Pines campus. The project involved strengthening the building with 36 ornate columns, four of which had to be rebuilt using fiberglass molds and steel rebar wire, to protect it from earthquakes, ensuring its safety while preserving its historic character.
