Abstract
- Two new neolignans, plagraneolignans A-B (1 - 2), in addition to eight known compounds, platycodin D (3), platycodin J (4), platycodin D 3 (5), platyconic acid A (6), platycoside E (7), chlorogenic acid (8), hexyl β -sophoroside (9) and tryptophan (10), were isolated from the roots of Platycodon grandiflorus. Their structures were elucidated by means of comprehensive spectroscopic analysis, including 1D, 2D and HRESIMS, as well as though comparison with published data. The antioxidant and hypolipidemic effects of all isolated compounds were evaluated. Compounds 1 - 2 , 8 and 10 exhibited the DPPH radical scavenging activity with IC 50 values ranging from 40.4 to 54.9 µM and the capacity of reducing intracellular lipid levels on the HepG2 cell line in the range of 21.79–32.40%. [Display omitted] • Two new neolignans, plagraneolignans A-B (1 - 2) were isolated from the roots of Platycodon grandiflorus. • Their structures were successfully determined by spectroscopic evidence. • Compounds 1 - 2 showed the antioxidant and hypolipidemic effects.
