Abstract

A recent study conducted at King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz University Hospital examined the case of a 33-year-old woman who experienced uterine rupture during a term pregnancy after undergoing uterine artery embolization (UAE) to treat a large fibroid. The patient presented with abdominal pain and rupture of membranes, and subsequent examination revealed cord prolapse and fetal demise. The researchers concluded that obstetricians should be aware of the possibility of spontaneous uterine rupture in pregnant women who have previously undergone UAE for fibroid management. This information is important for healthcare providers and patients considering UAE as a treatment option. [Extracted from the article]
